Portrait of Marwin Mönkemeyer

Marwin Mönkemeyer

I am an Assistant Professor of Finance at NEOMA Business School and an Honorary Research Associate at Cambridge Judge Business School.

I work in empirical corporate finance, mostly on institutional investors. I study how they vote, monitor and share information, and what this means for corporate governance, M&A, and sustainable finance. Some of my recent work applies machine learning to these questions.

I hold a PhD in Business Administration from the University of Hamburg. Before joining NEOMA, I was a Research Associate in Empirical Finance at the Cambridge Endowment for Research in Finance (CERF), University of Cambridge, and a Visiting Postdoctoral Fellow at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. I have also held visiting positions at the University of South Carolina and the University of Alberta, and I am a Research Fellow at the Hamburg Financial Research Center.

Teaching

My teaching and my research cover the same ground. I teach corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and valuation, I bring current research on institutional investors and sustainable finance into the classroom, and teaching these topics in turn sharpens the questions I take back to my research.

I have taught in Germany, the United Kingdom and France, including Corporate Finance on the Cambridge MBA and Mergers and Acquisitions in the Programme Grande École at NEOMA Business School.
